Need of Universal Declaration of Marriage as in Sikhism Indian Constitution and Other Countries: Sikh Marriage Act

It was Shri Guru Teg Bahadur’s son Shri Guru Gobind Singh, who made the most significant changes in the Code and Conduct for Ethics of Sikh Marriage. It is now the Sikh Marriage Act in the Constitution of India. He brought these changes in Sikhism by the Universal Declaration. It is an amazing fact that he was grandson of the Sixth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. It was the Sixth Sikh Guru, who had done more than one marriage. Because of it, He had three wives. He was also the first Sikh Guru living like a King. Thus, both the Thrones of Guru and King were one when he was the Guru.

It was also true for the Tenth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh. He was also Sikh Guru and King at the same time. As a result, we cannot ignore this fact that Shri Guru Gobind Singh had more than one wives. His three wives had the following names:

1. Mata Sahib Kaur Ji

2. Mata Sundar Kaur Ji

3. Mata Jeet Kaur Ji

The word Mata stands for mother. For example, Mata Sahib Kaur means Mother Sahib Kaur.

He also lived as a Sikh Guru and the King. Then he decided that the time has arrived for the universal declaration. It was for universal code and conduct for Sikhism. Thus, the declaration was made for all Sikhs. On 13th of April, 1699 at Gurudwara Keshgarh Sahib in city of Shri Anandpur Sahib, Shri Guru Gobind Singh founded the Khalsa Panth. He surrendered his Kingship to Five Beloved Ones in that function. Thus, he baptized them and in return got himself baptized by the five beloved ones. It was on this very day that he received the name Shri Guru Gobind Singh. Before it, he was Shri Guru Gobind Rai.

The surname or suffix Singh stands for lion. The woman was give the surname of Kaur, which in Punjabi means the lioness. The Five Beloved Sikhs were declared as the bodily representation of the Sikh Guru. It was also ensured that the Congregation receives the same states as the Living Guru and the King. This fact was for the purpose that the Teachings of Sikhism are same for the Guru and the Disciple, the Sikh. All of it was done and performed in the congregation. The aim of it was that sense of equality for all humans remains one. Thus said Shri Guru Gobind Singh:

Manas Ki Jaat Sabhai Ekai Pahchanbo (It is a verse in Punjabi language)

It means that let us recognize the cast of all humans as one and that is human. It was the formation of Sikhs as a family all over the world. Thus, man and woman were considered equal without any kind of bias as both are but humans. This was also for marriage purposes that all ethics with code and conduct are to deal with the spouse as human.

He gave the following motto and slogan to all Sikhs:

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

It has the following universal meaning spiritually significant:

Love is Pure: Those, who are Pure in Heart Belong to God. (Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa)

Grace and Will of God Wins: Spiritual Victory belongs to God. (Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh)

This purity of selfless love without condition for all is compassion. It makes one pure in heart while loving God unconditionally. This has a name Khalsa. To become pure in heart is by selflessness. This selfless state of a Sikh or learner cannot be possible without Grace and Will of God. Thus, all the spiritual victories also belong to God. This is the essence of what when a Sikh greets another Sikh says as:

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa,
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

It reminds one that all is for welfare of all. This followed the motto and the slogan at the end of each prayer that all Sikh offer as prayer for all. It is as follows:

Nanak Naam Chardi Kala, Tere Bhaanne Sarbat Da Bhala

It means Art of Ascendancy is with Name of God and His Will is for the Welfare of All existing in the Universe. In other words, when one seeks welfare of all, God blesses others and the person, who prays.

All Sikh touch the ground by bowing their heads down to earth to offer this prayer for all. It is forever increasing joys, peace and all that can help one to attain worldly and spiritual joys. This is what all Sikhs call it the Chardi Kala.

How Sikhs Were Divided as Two: Rule and Service Lovers - Sikh Gurus and Gurbani

Sikh pilgrim at the Harmandir Sahib (Golden Te...Image via Wikipedia

How and why Sikh Gurus have been putting behind the curtains by raisng new heroes is a one of the major questions. We notice in Punjab that Saint Jarnail Singh, Bhagat Singh, Banda Singh Bahadur and lot many others are getting all fame. Their projection goes as religious, political, spiritual, reformists and all that they did. It gives most of the youth imitate them without ever reading about what Sikhism, Gurus and Bhakats have been.

It seems the clans have developed to sharp edges and seem to claim as if the founders of Sikhism even though Sikhism not at all endorses the cast or clan system.

Most of the problems that Sikhs face seem to having its roots in the agriculture and farming. Anyone belonging to farmers clans or casts have two main advantages in Sikhism:

1. Sikh is a Saint: So, anyone can assume to be a saint

2. Sikh is a Soldier: So, anyone can assume to do all anti-social works by violence and yet claim a great solider and saint.

If something is left it is matter of purity of heart. This is what we know as Khalsa, the one, who is pure in heart. So, many associate the word Khalsa after their name Singh or Kaur.

Thus, Sikhism seem to be misused as being Saint, Soldier and Pure person without doing anything. It has thus corrupted the politics, religious practices and other social morals and values.

For example, the Sikhs has never wanted to rule the nation or world, but during the Era of Ignoring Sikh Gurus and teachings the caste and clan system has developed a socio-religious groups. Almost all seem to equate to be gurus.

This very broadminded Philosophy of Sikhism seem to have had opened the rooms for communism. It is very difficult when we consider a communist and a Sikh as both are similar in many ways. The communists usually project Sikhs as communists in so many ways as Saint (Philosopher and Thinker), Soldier (Armed Persons) and boosting all of it as Pure People (the Khalsa).

Whether it is 5 Year Planning System or the National Level Emergency in India in 1977 and the the Operation Blue Star in 1984 was developed theory of propagation of communism in the minds of Sikhs that had already put Sikhs in great difficulties even before the dawn of the Sikhism as discussed below:

"Bhai Mani Singh appointed as Arbitrator: Mata Sundari, the widow of Guru Gobind, came to learn of the trouble brewing between the two military factions at Amritsar. She appointed Bhai Mani Singh as the Granthi of the Harimandir and sent him to Amritsar with Kirpal Singh (Chand), the maternal uncle of Guru Gobind Singh to resolve the feud. The choice on Bhai Mani Singh seems to have fallen for intrinsic reasons also since Bhai Mani Singh, like Baba Baba Amar Singh was of Kamboj lineage and it was therefore hoped that he could better convince Baba Amar Singh and bring him to concilliation in the broader interests of the Khalsa Panth.

The feud resolved but......

After assuming office of the Head-Granthi in 1721, Bhai Mani Singh sent invitations to both parties to assemble on the Vaisakhi occasion. Both factions again met at Amritsar in compliance of the invitation from Bhai Mani Singh but with all the malice in their minds set against each other. At Amritsar, the Tat Khalsa took unilateral control of the Akal Bunga while the Jhanda Bunga was taken over by the Bandai Khalsa led by Baba Amar Singh.

Using a simplistic but well-intentioned procedure, Bhai Mani Singh was finally able to resolve the feud and restore peace among the warring factions and put the affairs of the Darbar Sahib in order in 1722. The final decision was that the Tat Khalsa was declared the genuine successor to Guru Gobind Singh and the Harimandir Sahib. The communism along with imperialism looked for any conflicts and used it. There is a point that when British Imperialism was decline in England Karl Marx was developing Marxism (Source: http://louisproyect.wordpress.com/2006/05/10/did-karl-marx-endorse-imperialism/). Now, we have more divisions based on almost all categories of human race and thus Global Imperialism, the New World Order. It is already going on and thus being aware makes a difference rather than living in darkness as if an ignorant.

The Sikh Gurus, Bhakats (or Bhagats), Gurbani and thus Shri Guru Granth Sahib does not teach it. Let us not forget what Sikh Gurus have taught us.

Thanks for your time reading it.
