How Indian Religion and Faiths Receive Original Knowledge and Wisdom of Universe - Role of Comparative Religious Studies and Interfaith

Religious symbols from the top nine organised ...Image via Wikipedia

We live in the universe that has waves and vibrations, and all those Rishi's, Muni, Sages and others meditated and received the waves and vibrations in the selfless state of mind, the subtle or Daivik level. They received all of it as symbols, audios (sounds), images or video type visions. This was then also have a system that it was original and classical. Thus, it forms the arts, grammar, Math, Astronomy, and all that we know as branches of knowledge and schools of wisdom.

This systematic process always remains present in the universe in every Yuga (Age), and place (irrespective of cast, creed, color, and whatever we can relate to place). This gives us the original knowledge and wisdom and the one who knows it is a Brahman, the person who knows about the Creator, the Brahma and the Creation of the Universe, the Brahmanda, and thus the Brahman. Here, we do not discuss the caste system though.

This process is how we gain the Vedic or Original knowledge and Wisdom from the Universe (the Brahmanada - the Cell or Egg of the Millions or Billions of the Brahmanda's, the Universes and thus is the Brahm+Anda. The word Anda stands for egg or cell.

While studying at the University of Adelaide, I heard Prof. (Dr.) Paul Davis explaining Universe as Onion as layers as present that Indian sages also consider in Astronomy as Star, planets, signs, constellations and so on.

All of it gave us the classical forms of Sanskrit as a language. However, the importance is not of just language, but the grammar work that is same as Mathematics, we say that Arithmetic was invented in India, but what about the grammar, music, ragas, dances and all that is so classical that it goes beyond science, the Vigaynmayi Kosha. Indian classical works are fully scientific, mathematical, artistic, philosophical, and whatever knowledge is present globally (yes universally). Even all of the instrumental works along with music and Ayurveda uses the medicinal and thus the technology in its natural form.

Yoga (and Meditation) is the highest level of science and technology that does not use any external equipment or instrument but nature and our communication with her, the Mother Nature.

However, while we have original knowledge and wisdom present in these forms, the holy scriptures like Holy Ramayana and Gita suffice the need of authority in what we need now the Karma+Yoga. I hope it helps our discussions about authority about bases of Indian Philosophy and Religions, particularly Hinduism.

Now, the concept of visions and revelations in almost Prophet Abraham based religions and faiths (With thanks from the source: Abrahamic religions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) like Jews, Christianity and Muslims also accept that these visions, the receiving of all as heard and or seen while including the Visions and Revelations mark it very well.

When we take it in Indian context, the Indian Religions and Faiths, we can easily understand that it is not by education alone that one learns all of these classical forms of knowledge and wisdom. Even an illiterate person can learn all that nature teaches us. That is why the need of religious teachers is for getting religious education (the Brahm Vidya) but not religious experiences or even self-realization (the Brahm Gyan).

We really do need teachers, who do not claim to make us masters of religions and faiths by claiming to give Divine Wisdom (the Brahm Gyan), but knowledge about it. This is what Sikhism in particular believes and is also true in our Interfaith and Comparative Religious Study discussions present among many world religions and faiths. We need to learn it as personal experience not professional as it seems in modern context.

Thanks for your time reading it.

How Hinduism and Other World Religions seem to have Some Troubles - Role of Comparative Religious Studies and Interfaith

Cults and new religious movements in literatur...Image via Wikipedia

It seems that religions and politics are integrated wrongly. The action theory of religion differs and that does not seem part of politics, but the philosophy of any religions sets the ethics and the value system that we use as morals. The later is one with politics and without morals or values the politics is just dictatorship or still worse it seems to be improved version of imperialism in which the people, citizens of the nation are divided based on the the action theory (the Karma Kanda or Kanda - the section that deals with rituals and outer side of any religion like clothes and wearing of the symbolic things and so on) that differs in even within every religion.

We seem to have it dominating as dominions (the smaller sects as Samprda - Sampardan is the methodology of teaching and thus has many variations in teaching schools and thus the Sampardaya Bhedas) and thus small governing bodies fighting with one another defaming religion even when we assume it in its true sense, the natural laws and principles aimed in and as true religion (as we know religion means to reunite with nature that we as humans separate due to our ego - as if humans and nature are two things or identities) .

We have constitution of a nation that needs so many laws and thus orders. Similarly, the religion has set of principles that integrates our aims of:

1. Dharama (Duty)
2. Arth (Economics and Possessions)
3. Kama (Desires and Wishes)
4. Mokhsa (Liberation and thus freedom)

When we talk about religious and spiritual freedom, we seem to forget that it is similar to freedom in the football ground. There is discipline and thus it is part of state, national and international levels as up to Olympic and World Cup. From left to right: Virchand Gandhi, Hewivitar...Image via Wikipedia

However, we simply seem to focus on winning the freedom and also medals the honors in the religious and spiritual world. We find many want to get rich quickly, many want desires fulfilled at once when wished, and duties are ignored in the name of this self-assumed freedom. It is as if one wants freedom of sports on the road not in the football ground.

When we discuss about religion it has all aspects from sociological levels to philosophical and whatever is available in the human faculties of knowledge. The contentment is the essence of education and religion but we seem to lack it.

Our languages have no depth as water level. Our foods have less nutrient as we seem to live Tamo Guni (Aiming for pleasure even violating the civilian, human rights and that of nature) or at most Rajo Guni (Give and take without any feelings of reverence and respect for humanity and nature). The distortion in language and culture decays all value systems and thus ethics and thus the downfall is natural as football has freedom only in the ground and our social referees as we have less interest in the welfare.

We may say a lot about selflessness but when our motives are for self-interest we may be educated but it does not work and we work if blind knowledge works for the ignorant.

The issues that you have raised are based on ignorance that needs wisdom not knowledge as the knowledge alone can mask anything and one can have fake medals and winning at national and international levels. This is not freedom. Swami Vivekananda is true example for the youth and teen and for Indian and World community when we talk about religions and spiritualism.

The Vedic knowledge and Sanskrit language seem to have a little place due to false gurus who aim to be heroes and live as if filmy stars setting no ideal example.

Swami Vivekananda at Chennai in 1897, after th...Image via Wikipedia

We can do something by setting example of simplicity as wisdom is natural not artificial. Natural lifestyle is the greatest treasure that we need to take care of when we think of Hinduism and its richness along with other religions and faiths of the world. Thanks again!

How can Hindus be so passive when Hindus are highly religious, and our Dharm does not allow Passiveness?

How the 12 Apostles Died - From Storytime Tapestry by Carol Roach

The Last SupperImage via Wikipedia

HOW THE  12 APOSTLES DIED,
BY  Anne R. C. Neale

Matthew was killed by a wound by a sword
He suffered martyrdom in Ethiopia for our Lord,
Mark died in Egypt, dragged by horses until dead,
Dragged through the streets of Alexandria by horses that were led.

Luke was hanged in Greece after he preached so well,
Luke preached to those " lost", and who were going to hell.
John was boiled in oil during persecution in Rome,

died an old man in his home,

Peter was crucified upside down on an x-shaped cross,
He felt he was unworthy to die like Jesus did, His Boss.
James was thrown down a hundred feet cliff but survived,
So his enemies beat him to death with a fuller's club, and he died.

James , the Great ,was a fisherman, and was beheaded in Jerusalem,
James defended his faith at his trial, but convicted they put him to death, Amen,
Bartholomew, known at Nathaniel  was made a martyr in Armenia you see
He was flayed to death by a whip, that was very horrible  to see.

Andrew was crucified in an x-shaped cross in Patras, Greece,
He was first whipped severely by seven  soldiers before crucified  which brought him  no pain and " peace".
Thomas was stabbed with a spear in India  on one of his missionary trips
He preached two days before he died ,his tormentors were  the culprits.

Jude was killed with arrows when he reused to deny his Faith in Christ,
What a terrible death for him, it sure wasn't  nice.
Matthias was chosen to replace the traitor Judas Iscariot,
Matthias was stoned and then beheaded, a terrible death he got.

Paul was tortured and then beheaded by evil Emperor Nero in Rome
In A,D, 67 this is when he happened after being imprisoned for years
in jail, not his home.
It is written in Matthew 10:22 in the bible you can find,
" But he that endureth to the end shall be saved" and ,that is fine.

I hope you found this poem interesting  and how they all stood firm for the Faith,
Could you and would you do it too, if you could have taken their place?
You can read all about the Apostles and Mathias too you know
Just open your bible, and you will find them all, that's so.

Lord Jesus Christ Gave his Life for Welfare of All and as a Human and Rose Again as in Spirit - He Proved that Holy Spirit Never Dies

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...Image via Wikipedia

Jesus GAVE His life and purposely chose not to call for divine deliverance, angelic help and spiritual reinforcements (Matthew 26:52-56), so He could die - as prophesied - for the Jew first, then the Gentile. Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. John 10:15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. John 10:17 "Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. 18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father." Jesus GAVE His Life To Give Us LIFE!

(With thanks from the source: http://plaintruthmagazine.blogspot.com/2009/07/jesus-gave-his-life-to-give-us-life.html)

We easily believe that many people talk to dead people, angels, spirits and so on, but when it says that Lord Jesus talked to many people, we seem to doubt forgetting the he was in spirit not in physical body. He appears to many people and many see his vision as if present and that is not physical body but the astral or spirit in body.

The Flagellation of Our Lord Jesus Christ (1880)Image via WikipediaIt seems an act of shame that his great works, sacrifice and teaching and messages as well are put to doubt by the modern gurus for just trading their brand of New Era and having fake grounds of spirituality and being miraculous which is nothing but scientific and technological twisting. He taught what prophets before him said as well like from Abraham to Moses and also the Proverbs and all that gives wisdom to us.

So, we remember Lord Jesus as the true Prophet, the Philosopher and Messenger of Peace and all of his sacrifices and that of his disciples are witness to it. We need to offer him our thanks as a human without keep thinking if he rose again physically, yes he rose again in the spirit as the spirit is always with us.

Yes, Lord Jesus Gave his Life as a Human and Rose Again as in Spirit - There is no Controversy that Spirit Can Ever Die as Soul is Eternal.

So, let us please not forget that he gave his life for greater good and wellness of all that we notice that millions of his followers have done from centuries.
We all are one in spirit and it does not matter what we believe in, but if we express gratitude and thanksgiving to great ones as Lord Jesus did for Noah, Abraham, David, Moses and so many who came before him, he even washed his disciples feet, what we can do is just saying thanks, offering our thanksgiving as we do to our friends, family, nation, and whoever and what has contributed in our lives. Moreover, it helps us a lot to live a better life as it seems to me. We are proud of him.

Thanks for your reading Lord Jesus Christ Gave his Life for Welfare of All and as a Human and Rose Again as in Spirit - He Proved that the Holy Spirit Never Dies

P.S.: This is my personal opinion and I am a Sikh not Christian if it seems that this article seems to make anyone convince as this is a matter of personal choice. It is based on my research works not just one trick of making money, but earning the treasure of history of human civilization. I have just offered my thanks to Lord Jesus as a human.

My research works gave me the following as a poem:

Our Human Ego and the Sermon Given by Lord Jesus in the Holy Bible

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

You are the creator,

However, we hardly indulge in you but in the creation,

You have the purpose for the creation,

However, we hardly follow the purpose but illusion,

You have the love for the whole creation,

However, we never seem to stop disliking.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

We say that kingdom of heaven belongs to us,

However, we never show ourselves spiritually poor,

We say that you will comfort us,

However, we never mourn with divine compassion,

We say that we shall received what you have promised,

However, we never humble ourselves,

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

We claim that you will satisfy   us fully,

However, our greatest desire is rarely to do what you require,

We claim that you will be merciful to us,

However, we are rarely merciful to others in a profound way,

We claim that we shall see you,

However, we are rarely pure in heart like a child.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

We proclaim ourselves as your children,

However, we rarely work for peace for all,

We proclaim that we are doing what you require,

However, we rarely want prosecution

We proclaim ourselves your followers,

However, we rarely want to face insult and evil lies against us.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

We call ourselves salt for all humankind,

However, we rarely speak the truth lest we face crucifying ourselves,

We call ourselves light for the whole world,

However, we rarely shine for those, whom we dislike,

We call ourselves the highest in the heaven,

However, we rarely obey your commandments.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

We offer our gifts to you,

When our fellow humans face sufferings caused by us,

We make our prayers to you,

When we hand over our fellows to court,

We sing our songs to you

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

You commanded not to divorce even the unfaithful wife,

We pray and seek your guidance for insight of obeying it,

You commanded not to take revenge on someone,

However, we do not want to do good to someone who wrongs us,

You commanded not to hate even enemy.

However, we rarely love our friends unconditionally.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

We love those who love us,

Because we are hardly better than what we ought to be,

We invite those who invite us,

Because we are hardly better than what we ought to be,

We speak to those who speak to us,

Because we are hardly better than what we ought to be,

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Out supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

We let it happen that

We do perform our religious duties in public,

We know it that

We should not do acts of charity to show people,

We let it happen that

We help needy and make big show of it.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our Supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

Teach and guide us how to help needy,

So that we may be rewarded by you,

Teach and guide us how to give something to needy,

So that we may be pleased by you,

Teach and guide us how to help needy

So that we may receive your blessings,

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

We usually pray when everyone watches us,

We usually pray when room is open,

We usually pray when our heart is away,

We usually pray when you do not need words,

We usually pray when you are blessing everyone,

We usually pray when you bestow by your own ways.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

We pray you to forgive us,

However, we do not forgive others,

We pray you to forgive us,

However, we do not stop judging others,

We pray you to forgive us,

However, we do not have mercy for others.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

Merciful Father, We seek your mercy,

Give us strength to do fasting without letting anyone know it,

Merciful Father, We seek your mercy,

Give us strength to store up riches for ourselves in heaven,

Merciful Father, We seek your mercy,

Give up strength to keep light spreading for all,

O Dear God, There is nothing without you.

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

We boast that we are serving one master,

However, we still love possessions more than persons do.

We boast that we are not worried about anything,

However, we are still worried about food and cloths,

We boast that we are concerned with kingdom of true living,

However, we are still worrying about the problems for the future.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

We are hypocrite because we judge others,

We are hypocrite because we usually ignore to look inside,

We are hypocrite because we usually do not honor holy,

We are hypocrite because we usually do not obey you,

We are hypocrite because we usually do not feel you by heart.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us the humans.

It is rare that we ask you by heart,

It is rare that we seek you by heart,

It is rare that we knock your door by heart,

It is rare that we surrender you by heart,

It is rare that we hear you by heart,

It is rare that we open to you by heart.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us the humans.

We think we will go to heaven but walk on wide road,

We think ourselves saved but do not check falsehood in us,

We think we will have self-realization but rarely surrender,

We think we will never fall but do not obey your word,

We think we will bring peace but rarely apt for true living.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us the humans.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

We do not welcome your messengers of peace,

However, seek reward from you,

We do not welcome the good humans,

However, seek reward from you,

We do not welcome least of your servants,

However, seek reward from you.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us the humans.

We are evil and godless when we seek miracles,

The greatest miracle is to love you,

We are unworthy and sinful when living inhumanly,

The greatest human is one, who obeys you,

We are broken and weak because we are in flesh,

The greatest attempt of the flesh is to obey you.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us the humans.

Your word is like mustard seed,

But we do not sow it in the field; the heart,

Your word is like the yeast,

But we do not mix it with flour; the people,

Your word is like a hidden treasure,

However, we do not to buy it, sell everything, the possessiveness.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us the humans.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

Forgive us when we do not proclaim your ways,

Forgive us when do not walk on your ways,

Forgive us we do not grow in your ways,

Forgive us when we do not keep your ways,

Forgive us when we do not rely on your ways,

Forgive us when do not obey your ways.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

Give us the ears to listen what you say,

O Dear Father, Hear our prayers, we pray,

Give us eyes to see you in everyone,

O Dear Father, Hear our prayers, we pray,

Give us tongues to praise you in everything,

O Dear Father, Hear our prayers, we pray

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

Dear Father, as the burning candle melts,

Prays Bhagouauty, melt our egos with truth of your word

Dear Father, as the evil thoughts ruin our intellect

Give us the wisdom of conscience, the voice of truth

Dear Father, as the discerning power helps us all

Bless us the joy of Holy Spirit, the treasure of your gifts

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

The Word became the Flesh, but we are not able to follow

We all read and teach, but our weakness create sorrow

You can take our burdens, please take our ego

You cannot forsake, so bless us with the trust in all relations

Your Grace dispels all the sorrows; we seek it humbly

You spread love, care and compassion, allow it to flow in all of us. Amen!

O Dear God, There is nothing without you,

Our supplication to you is to lead us, the humans.

Thanks for your reading it.

Ragas have a direct relationship to human moods and there are connections between Ragas and feeling: Timings For Gurbani Raag

Line art drawing of the A noteImage via Wikipedia

There is an inextricable link between music and our moods. A lullaby soothes us to sleep; a love song arouses our amorousness; pop music sets our feet tapping; while devotional songs evoke our spirituality. Our sages and musicologists of yore studied this relationship between music and the human psyche and evolved raags that linked our changing moods to changes in nature.

What emerged was what we refer to as the time cycle of raags. According to this theory there is a special raag for each period of the day., representing each mood. Such a finely tuned understanding of the mood created by different musical notes does not exist in any system of music, anywhere in the world.

The first cycle raag corresponds to that twilight hour, just before dawn, when the colour of the sky begins to change, the last to the velvety night, after sunset. When you see the changing colours of the sky at the break of the day or the glorious hues of sunset, you may feel the same quiet wonder at the sheer beauty of nature, yet that you experience at daybreak may be different from your reactions to dusk.

Another interesting aspect of raag and Gurbani classification is understood by studying daily time-cycles. A raag has a preferred timing associated with it. There are some morning raags, evening raags, afternoon raags, etc. The timings of raags also complement the changes in human moods and heart during a twenty-four hour time cycle.

Upon classification of thirty-one main raags used in Guru Granth Sahib based on the prescribed raag timings, we find that no raags fall under the time zone 12 AM - 3 AM. It is interesting that the Gurus chose not to use any raag with this time cycle because one would normally sleep or engaged in your meditation or nitnemduring this period.

Please read more about how day times relate to it from the source with thanks: http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Timings_For_Gurbani_Raag

Moreover, the Ragas have significant effect of our moods as the Ragas have a direct relationship to human moods and the following are the connections between Ragas and feeling:
  1. Soohi - joy and separation
  2. Bilaaval - happiness
  3. Gaund - strangeness, surprise, beauty
  4. Sri - satisfaction and balance
  5. Maajh - loss, beautification
  6. Gauri - seriousness
  7. Aasa - making effort
  8. Gujri - satisfaction, softness of heart, sadness
  9. Devgandhari - no specific feeling but the Raag has a softness
  10. Bihaagra - beautification
  11. Sorath - motivation
  12. Dhanasari - inspiration, motivation
  13. Jaitsree - softness, satisfaction, sadness
  14. Todi - this being a flexible Raag it is apt for communicating many feelings
  15. Bhairaagi - sadness, (The Gurus have, however, used it for the message of *Bhakti)
  16. Tilang - this is a favourite Raag of Muslims. It denotes feeling of beautification and yearning.
  17. Raamkali - calmness
  18. Nat Narayan - happiness
  19. Maali Gaura - happiness
  20. Maaru - giving up of cowardice
  21. Tukhari - beautification
  22. Kedara - love and beautification
  23. Bhairav - seriousness, brings stability of mind
  24. Basant - happiness
  25. Sarang - sadness
  26. Malaar - separation
  27. Jaijawanti - viraag
  28. Kalyaan - Bhakti Ras
  29. Vadhans - vairaag, loss (that is why Alahniya is sung in this Raag when someone passes away)
  30. Parbhati - Bhakti and seriousness
  31. Kaanra - Bhakti and seriousness

How History is not Useless Metaphorically - Granny and Our Children has Human Story of Civilization that is Still in the Hearts as if Old Books in the Library not Opened Yet

A gray-haired old woman from the United Kingdom.Image via Wikipedia
A schematic showing the spreading of humans in...Image via Wikipedia

It seems that we are putting history into past instead of preserving as if getting it as a treasure of the past. The most of the villages, suburbs, cities, states and even nations have a great history and thus belong to past with richness of historical aspects integrating all faculties of human knowledge and wisdom from that very place.

When we consider anything metaphorically, it means taking it as beyond time and space.

However, all the people who thought and did anything in this manner remain in the universe forever as if witness that universe has its own history even with Big Bangs and Big Crunches. We are researching for the history of the universes, and the same time placing our very history as if it is a fairytale or just collection of myths and studying it as if just mythology.
We can have fantasy and virtual world created for us in the modern age that has neither past and present or future. However, it seems to replace the history of human civilization that we may not know the history of the place where we live.
Just imagine how the world was 100, 200 or 500 years ago. We may consider it even for 1000 years ago. It gives history in right perspective. For example, if I want to think about India, I have to see how it was hundreds years before.
Mahatma Gandhi and Mohammad Ali Jinnah, key le...Image via Wikipedia
For example the state of Punjab was big one before independence of India and if I just learn how many cities it has now, I may never know its civilization and thus history. Thus, it seems that modernization or globalization in particular is harming the concept of history and the human treasures associated it.

We need sincere efforts for making history better understood as our age as if in hundreds of years without making and thus labeling as ancient. I strongly feel that the old and aged are getting lesser attention as they may appear people of the past, the ancient ones. If you are aged reader you may know that what you know, we the young one only memorize. An old man of age 70 years knows history as personal experiences as it reaches back into 100-200 years ago.

The generation gap is becoming historical as when we consider grandchildren and grandparents. However, we all know most of the grandchildren love grannies, is not it.

That is why How History is not Useless Metaphorically - Granny and Our Children has Human Story of Civilization that That is Still in the Hearts as if Old Books in the Library. Yes, the old the aged are our library of real history still closed in heart trying to reach to their mouth and thus our ears that we enjoy hearing the words, gamut and shapes created thousands years ago.
Thanks for your reading it.
