If one forces others to believe or accept, it does not seem logical, as it is not possible to see the image in these. If we say that, the statue is nothing but the material that constitutes it, it seems as if one is ignoring the art of sculpture and thus making of it.
The other ignorant, but similar statement is to say that one day the statue would turn back to what it is made of, for example if made from clay then would turn back to clay. The objection is the irony for if the statue is made of iron; it decays to rust, not exactly back to iron. For the ancient Philosophers proposed such objections of perfection the five basic constituents, these were Solid, Water, Air, Fire and the Space.
In the Gurbani, some perfectionists find it very difficult to accept two statements that seem opposing one another. At one place, we say that the whole creation is His very Own Image:
“Ehu Sansar Tum Jo Dekhde Eh Hari Ka Roop Hai”
While on the other hand the Gurbani also says that, this world seems like a poisonous thing:
“Baba Bikhu Dekhya Sansar”
Now if we accept that the statue is simply made of clay and one day it would decay, it is not ignorance, it is as logical as the logic that one dies at the end of life. What more is that those who do not remember their death are living in the world accept it as if one goes into trance of beauty of the statue and converses with the it, while forgetting the surroundings. We will continue, thanks for your reading!
